This year the Chiba Cup will be held on Sunday 18 November at Chiba Port Park (http://cis-natcon.com/park/
Admission and parking are free. Everyone is invited to come and try some Indian curry, maybe a hot dog, and a delicious Chiba craft brew (Kujukuri Ocean draft beer) while watching Chiba Sharks Cricket Club (www.chibasharks.com) and an Invitational University XI play a limited-overs exhibition cricket match close to Tokyo (Chiba Minato Station on the JR Keiyo Line).
There will be some small giveaways on the day and other events including the opportunity for kids to try cricket themselves and a flea market for those who want to find a bargain.
The Chiba Cup promotes the development of cricket in Chiba and Kanto. While still a minor sport, cricket continues to grow in Japan and has a strong community of both locally-born and expat players. Supporters of the Chiba Cup include JCA Chiba., Japan Airlines, JTB, and Japan Foods.
