Postby David L » Sun Nov 29, 2009 4:13 pm

Our sixth and seventh games (our last two games before the finals) in the Kashiwa Indoor Winter League are on Saturday 20 February at 17:15 against Sano and then at 19:30 against Adore.

We will meet at an appropriately earlier time at Kashiwa Station...times and details will be sent by email later.

Please post your availability below.

[Now updated: These are actually our 7th and 8th winter league matches (not our sixth as previously indicated). We play IISJ (Navin's team) at 19:30 and then Team Mach at 20:30.]

[Updated again (23 Dec): These are now actually our 6th and 7th winter league matches, which are our last 2 games before the finals. We play Sano at 17:15 and then Adore at 19:30.]

UPDATED AGAIN! (8 FEB) It's a long story, but now we're playing a third game on this day, against Navin's team, from 20:30.

Gotcha. So I guess that in fact IIJS DID NOT forfeit on the weekend and the game has been rescheduled. Still in.

Tamzid.

FIRSTLY. IIJS could not make up a team. The Sharks would not accept that we play a game for points against four Sharks players in the IIJS team. IIJS forfeited the game and the Sharks got 3 match points, but because so many people had come to play, we agreed to play a game. We agreed to allow runs/wickets by IIJS players to be included in the score records so for them it was not really a 'practice game'. Now, however, it seems we must replay IIJS on Feb 27 - I do not know why this has happened, but that is not so important here.

SECONDLY. The Sharks, Dave Lollback and your father went to much trouble and discussion to allow you to play that game. You have said many times you want to play a game for The Sharks. You did. Your father allowed you even though you told him we used a 'tennis ball'. Also, one rule we asked you to follow was correct equipment - but I had to ask and then provide you with batting gloves, box, leg guards because you said you were not sure if you were going to play. If you come you should come ready to play.

THIRDLY. You got to play against not only IIJS players but also with and against some of the best of the Sharks in a real game. Whether it was a practice game or for points is irrelevant. Now you say that if you knew it was a practice game you would not have come. That is not an attitude of someone who wants to play cricket for the Sharks.

The teams for the games on the 27th will be chosen in the same way as we always do - by the selectors. You will find out the team when everyone else does.

Sorry Kris .Next time if i play i will bring my own equipment .I will follow the instructions whatever the Sharks say.Iam also sorry for saying that i would not come if it was a practice match. i told my father that the sharks play in a tennis court not tennis ball .He got confused and he says sorry.Iam only will play this tournament .my father allowed me to play only this tournament.Sorry Kris :!:

You do not need to apologise to me, Tamzid, as I am only one of the Sharks. We understand now that there was confusion over the 'tennis' thing. Part of being in any team is understanding what you can and cannot do. You are still young and it is part of growing up. I hope you learn from it. Let's move forward from this. No need to reply - I am sure you understand.
