StatNav and I ended up doing this one after a couple of late scratchings.

I rode down to Sano with Nav in the sidecar on Nav's bike. Nice to have the wind in my face.

Just wanted to say that Nav performed very well doing the largely thankless job of standing at square leg all day. He was involved in adjudicating at least two very important decisions, and as his StatNav reputation would imply, his skill at counting six balls in an over easily exceeds mine (I had to confirm with him "how many to go" a bunch of times). He looked very professional in his white and blacks and that ubiquitous Sharks cap of his.

He has also entered the ranks of manhood now - wearing those black trousers in the Sano sun all day gave him a nice pair of chafed innner thighs, and he spent the last part of the day waddling around with a grimace on his face. Nav, I think we have a number of experts in this team who can give you all sorts of tips on how to deal with that problem.

Ooooh dear! I heard that the umpires had to deal with a couple of rotten balls but I just assumed that the Wombats had been bowling beamers. The truth brings a tear to my eye and not in a good way either. I'll get some medicated talc back in blighty and add it to the team's ever expanding medical kit.
By the way, how did Navin ride that monster bike back to Tokyo with his crotch in such a sorry state?
